Class Review: CorePower Yoga Sculpt

Class: CorePower Yoga Sculpt

Studio: CorePower Yoga, lots of studios all over the U.S.

We love the new USC Village location!

Length: 60 minutes

Difficulty (1-5): 4-5, depending on the instructor and how hard you make it

Sweatiness (1-5): 5. Definitely a 5. It’s a heated class. Plus if the class is packed, it gets even hotter.

Recommended for beginners?: Yes! We were both definitely beginners to yoga. We barely knew basic poses and could not even think about doing advanced poses. But we could do a full sculpt class from the beginning.

It does get pretty hot in the room, but it’s usually manageable. If you do have a problem with the heat, you should sit near the door because you’ll get a nice breeze when the instructor opens the door.

Recommended Instructors: We really loved Monica in the Hollywood location and Joel in the USC Village location. But we’ve never had a bad sculpt instructor or class!

What to expect: The flows / sequences are not difficult to follow and are pretty basic poses, such as forward fold, up dog, down dog, and chair pose. We like to grab 2 sets of weights since we can use heavier weights for legs and back, but we need lighter weights for arms and, especially, shoulders.

There’s a cardio portion during the class. Think jumping jacks, high knees, fast feet. It can get hard because the room is hot and you’re already sweating a ton by this point.

Other: Bring your own mat and definitely bring a towel! We like to take a mat towel and a small towel for our faces. We also take a hugeeee Hydroflask of iced water.

  1. Can’t believe there are no CorePower Yoga studios in Houston 😞 only in Dallas! I’d like to try them someday. They seem like a good fit for yoga beginners (aka ME) as you mentioned.

  2. Core Power is THE sweatiest yoga class I have tried and I have tried A LOT! But it is a great workout and I feel so good afterwards! Definitely be hydrated beforehand!

  3. I 100% agree with your review. I love that it incorporates some cardio and weights and gives you a total body workout. I feel like many of us neglect to stretch, strengthen our core and smaller muscle groups, so this class is perfect!!

  4. I’ve never heard of CorePower before… I’ll have to see if they have a location near me! I love the yoga + cardio combination. <3

  5. I love yoga! I’ve never tried CorePower Yoga, though. Sounds like a great workout!!

  6. I love Corepower and the sculpt classes! This is definitely an accurate review 🧘🏻‍♀️😊

  7. Core Power Yoga Benefits:
Core power yoga is the one that ensures numerous health benefits. This involves everything from body stimulation, detoxification, and healing and up to mental relaxation. The activity itself may seem somewhat challenging since it combines spirituality, strength, and persistence.
