Hands down the best discovery we’ve made in quarantine is Breakblok, the best gluten free bakery in Los Angeles. Breadblok is organic, gluten-free, soy-free, gum-free, and refined sugar free, yet it is definitely NOT taste free. It is absolutely delicious. It doesn’t have that “gluten-free” taste aka a little like cardboard. They also carry a variety of nut free, dairy free, and vegan options.
Food:
We’ve only been to the Santa Monica store and have only tried their bakery items. But we’ve loved every single item we’ve had.
For breads, we love the sourdough, brioche, and olive bread. You can ask them to slice it there or take it home to slice the loaf yourself! Joanna would use the sourdough to make an avocado toast at home. Grace has made egg salad sandwiches with the brioche bread. They don’t crumble and taste bland like some other gluten free breads.
Their blueberry scone is insanely delicious. It’s perfect if you heat it up a little bit and have it with some coffee. We’ve also loved every donut and cookie we’ve had. Their croissants are more dense than a regular croissant, but they’re still surprisingly flaky!
Their Santa Monica store also has food like sandwiches and salads. We haven’t tried them yet, bu they look incredibly amazing and definitely want to try them all out.
