The Ultimate Coachella Packing List

Coachella is one of my favorite times of the year. If you have been following us for a while, you’ll know that I love to go to music festivals. Last year was the first time in 5 years I hadn’t been back to Coachella. So, I’m excited to go back!

Joanna & I have come up with the ultimate Coachella packing list, so you can worry less about prepping and more about having fun when you’re there.

Essentials

Make sure to have your wristband registered before going! Also, you will want your ID with you, since they check for 21+ areas. Always bring your credit card even though Apple Pay is available because it does fail quite often.

Clothes

Honestly, the fashion is one of the best parts of Coachella. Some of my favorite sites for inspiration and ideas are Luna B, EastnWestLabel, 12th Tribe, Her Pony, Planet Blue, and Revolve.

Make sure to wear comfortable shoes though! Even if open-toe sandals and heeled boots may be cute for photos, think about how you’ll be on your feet for 12 hours, clocking in over 20k steps, and dancing. Plus the walk into and out of Coachella is L O N G.

I always bring a light jacket or a flannel with me to sit on and to wear when it gets cold at night. It’s the desert; it will get chilly especially on that walk back. If you don’t want to carry it around, you can get a locker, but remember to reserve one before getting to Coachella as they do sell out.

Beauty

Absolute essentials are moisturizer, sunscreen, and dry shampoo!

I’ve also had a ton of fun using temporary hair color like Manic Panic and body jewels and glitter like The Gypsy Shrine. Have fun with it!

Accessories

I prefer to carry a fanny pack with me since I like my hands free. Plus it’s harder for pickpockets to get my phone and wallet since it’s in front of me at all times.

Definitely bring a bandana or face mask with you daily because it gets super dusty. I try to wear it every time I’m walking around to avoid dust getting into my lungs. The first year I went I lost my voice and had a cough for a month! So don’t want to do that ever again.

Sunglasses are also great if there’s a dust storm. You’ll need to protect your eyes.

Health

I always pack aspirin with me in case of a headache or a hangover. This year we’re also taking DripDrop with us to help replenish our electrolytes!

Miscellaneous

Ear plugs are NECESSARY, especially if you plan on being at the Sahara tent a lot. If you hear ringing in your ears at the end of the night, you didn’t wear them enough. Be smart and protect your eardrums.

If you can find someone in your group (or if you want to) to carry a CamelBak, it’s honestly so helpful. But if not, you can buy water and refill the bottles or take in your own non-metal water bottle and fill them there at the water stations. Stay hydrated!

We’re so excited to be heading out to the desert in just under a week! Hope to see you there.
